A new program targeting 9th and 10th graders at All Hallows High School is looking to address hate crimes and intolerance across the United States.

The All Hallows History, Civics and Genocide Prevention Academy tackles conversations on topics such as historical conflicts and genocide as it looks to shape informed leaders for the future.

The program launched this month, thanks to funding from the Raymond and Gloria Naftali Foundation. It targets ninth and 10th graders and allows them to meet once a week.

All Hallows High School Principal Nicholas Corrado says the extracurricular initiative hits close to home for many students.

"They are looking at all sorts of topics - the Holocaust, World War I, World War II, the impact of prejudice and racism, and case studies of other examples of prejudice and genocide in world history," said Corrado.
