New Rochelle native Kevin Shattenkirk brings Stanley Cup back home

Shattenkirk was a member of the Stanley Cup winning-Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020. Because of the pandemic, he couldn’t travel with it.

New Rochelle native and former New York Rangers defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk is finally getting his day with the Stanley Cup.
He greeted hometown fans Saturday morning with the hardest trophy to win in sports.
Shattenkirk was a member of the Stanley Cup winning-Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020. Because of the pandemic, he couldn’t travel with it. At City Hall, he told News 12 that he was happy to see hockey “flourish” in New Rochelle and is proud to be a part of that movement.
Shattenkirk and his family will continue sharing the Stanley Cup throughout the day, including a stop at Iona Prep to meet the hockey team there.
