New Rochelle native and former New York Rangers defenseman
Kevin Shattenkirk is finally getting his day with the Stanley Cup.
He greeted hometown fans Saturday morning with the hardest
trophy to win in sports.
Shattenkirk was a member of the Stanley Cup winning-Tampa
Bay Lightning in 2020. Because of the pandemic, he couldn’t travel with it. At
City Hall, he told News 12 that he was happy to see hockey “flourish” in New
Rochelle and is proud to be a part of that movement.
Shattenkirk and his family will continue sharing the Stanley
Cup throughout the day, including a stop at Iona Prep to meet the hockey team
there.
