New York-Presbyterian Lawrence in Bronxville says it expects to begin vaccinating its employees early this week.
New York administered 10,000 vaccinations Monday.A New York nurse was among the first people to get the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in the U.S. Other area hospitals say they're expecting their shipment of vaccines in a few days' time as well.
"Just because we are giving out the vaccine, that is no excuse for the public to stop wearing masks, social distancing," says Michael Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell Health. 
Representatives from Phelps Hospital, St. Joseph's, Nyack and Westchester Medical Center say they're waiting for specific information, but they're ready to go as soon as they get the green light.
