The City of Newburgh, along with Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), is asking the federal government to give leftover military goods to the city to help it combat crime.
The city is asking the Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO), part of the Department of Defense, to provide unused weapons to the city for free.
LESO is tasked with supplying items such as guns, body armor and Humvees to municipal law enforcement agencies to help them fight crime.
