A Town of Newburgh family lost its home in a devastating fire Thursday night. 

The fire started around 6:30 on Copper Rock Road.

Fire officials with Winona Lake Engine Company say rescuers were alerted to the fire when their chief saw the smoke from miles away. 

Town of Newburgh police say three people lived in the house and are OK. 

They say an electrical problem appears to be to blame.
