A Newburgh mother is being charged with four counts of DWI after police say she crashed into a tree with her four children in the car Monday night.
Michelle Reyes, 30, hit a tree head-on while driving on Lakes Road in Greenwood Lake at around 7:30 p.m.
Police say Reyes was driving with her children, ages 6, 5, 4 and 18 months. According to authorities, at the time of the crash her blood alcohol level was .27, which is more than three times over the legal limit. Investigators also say all four of Reyes' children were in improperly sized car seats.
Reyes is currently being held at the Orange County Jail on $25,000 bond. Her children were given new car seats and taken home to Newburgh with their grandparents.
