A Newburgh woman celebrated 100 years of life on Saturday, surrounded by her closest family members and friends who ensured they did it safely.
Amy Antinori celebrated the milestone in style and told News 12 that she credits her longevity to Italian food.
Her full name is America Italia Maria Lucia Leonardo Antinori. The mother of two, grandmother of five and great-grandmother of four is a devout Catholic who values her religion and family above all else.
"It means more than material things. It wouldn't be a holiday without family," Antinori said.
There are also her favorite TV shows.
"I like to watch travel [shows] on TV. I like educational and travel channels. I'm interested in the travel shows," she said.
She also loves a good surprise, like a special certificate signed by Pope Francis and sent to her from the Vatican.
Antinori said she's always been grateful to have lived in America.
"My father always reminded us how lucky we were to live in the United States," she said.
