A Newburgh woman has pleaded guilty in federal court in White Plains to wire fraud and stolen valor.

Prosecutors say Sharon Toney-Finch ran a charitable organization and falsely claimed donations would solely support veterans. Instead, she used the funds for personal expenses.

Toney-Finch also lied about receiving a Purple Heart for injuries from a 2010 terrorist attack in Iraq.

She faces sentencing in September.
