The Hudson Valley is getting a new casino in Orange County.
In just one week, Resorts World Hudson Valley is opening its third location in the town of Newburgh.
The casino is a $50 million renovation of the old Bonton store at the Newburgh Mall.
“We have state of the art slot machines and electronic table games,” said Resorts World Vice President Meghan Taylor. “You’ll be able to play baccarat, blackjack, roulette, craps – all at our electronic table units here.”
Resorts World has two other locations in Jamaica, Queens, and Monticello in the Catskills.
“We believe the casino here will really help attract new tenants to the mall and new restauranteurs.”
The casino has 1,200 slots and e-games, plus two bars.
Casino reps say the location is a sure success that will revitalize the surrounding Newburgh area and the Newburgh mall.
“When it was built in the '70s, it was the place for retail shopping in this area and as times change, things changed and the mall has seen better days,” said Taylor.
Resorts World Hudson Valley in Newburgh opens next Wednesday, Dec. 28.
