Nice to not so nice weekend weather in the Hudson Valley

After a gorgeous Friday, humidity returns Saturday and rain returns Sunday.

Saturday starts off comfortably cool and crisp but sadly doesn't stay that way.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

The beginning of the weekend has clouds gradually moving toward the region. There is going to be a gradual rise in humidity levels throughout the region over the course of the day. The chance for showers is isolated but still possible in the afternoon to evening hours.

Overnight Saturday into Sunday, a warm front will be passing by, putting more moisture in the air. The winds will back down to very light levels, so patchy fog will be possible into Sunday morning. A chance for scattered showers and storms will be possible for the Sunday morning into the midday hours. The second half involves a cold front coming through that may fire up a few storms in the early afternoon hours. But it will also lower humidity levels for Sunday evening into Monday.

The skies will be nice and sunny, the air feeling pleasant and the temps at warm levels on Monday. We will have another pick of the week after having one this Friday.

Tuesday will be just as nice, with a little more cloud cover coming. Starting Wednesday, and into the end of the work week, heat and humidity will be return, and several areas have a chance of getting into the 90s. There will be, thankfully, a low to no chance for showers through much of the week. But that will chance next Friday.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny skies to start then a mix of sun and clouds and a buildup of humidity through the day moves in. A chance for showers is possible in the afternoon to evening hours, but it will be isolated. Highs: mid-80s. Lows: upper 60s to low 70s.

SUNDAY: WEATHER TO WATCH - Mostly cloudy with scattered shower and storm chances (on and off) through the day. Humidity will return. Highs: mid to upper 80s. Lows: mid-60s.

MONDAY: PICK OF THE WEEK - Mainly sunny, feeling pleasant, with a nice breeze. Highs: low 80s. Lows: upper 50s to low 60s.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny, feeling pleasant. Highs: low 80s. Lows: mid-60s.

WEDNESDAY: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs: mid-80s. Lows: upper 60s to low 70s.

THURSDAY: Mix of sun and clouds, starting to feel warmer and more humid. Highs: upper 80s to low 90s. RECORD: 95 (1952). Lows: low to mid-70s.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny with a chance of an afternoon storm popping up under hot and humid conditions. RECORD: 95 (1999). Highs: low 90s. Lows: low 70s.
