A man from West New York will spend the next 10 years in prison after posing as a New York City nurse to gain women's trust before kidnapping, stalking, and assaulting them, according to police.

Herman Brightman used Facebook and Hinge from January 2022 to September 2023, posting pictures and videos of himself in scrubs to meet his victims.

Prosecutors say he traveled to New York and forced a woman he recently dated, along with her child, to return to his New Jersey home at knifepoint.

This pattern affected at least four women, including one from Westchester County.
