A New Jersey Transit police officer from West Haverstraw has been suspended without pay stemming from allegations that he had sex with a woman while on duty.
Lennard Ryner and his partner, Gabriel Mantilla, of Jersey City, are accused of picking up a woman at the Liberty State park-and-ride lot, driving to a secluded location and having sex with her in their patrol car. Both men are charged with official misconduct and have been suspended without pay.
Police say there is no evidence that the officers raped the woman. They are investigating the details of the incident to see if more charges should be filed.
