No criminality is suspected in the death of a toddler who plummeted five floors out of an apartment building in Concourse.
According to investigators, 2-year-old Nayvem Santos was under his grandmother's care when he got out of his crib and used a chair to crawl out of a window.
They say the boy was on the seventh floor of 691 Gerard Ave. and landed on a second-story landing at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. His grandma was asleep in another room.
Emergency crews found Santos unconscious and unresponsive. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Authorities say that while they don't suspect foul play, the investigation remains ongoing.
