The New York state court system is now taking responsibility for a clerical error in Port Jervis that nearly caused a woman's arrest last week.
Carly Edmond was detained by state police during a traffic stop last week in Goshen after her license showed an active warrant for her arrest.
Edmond had cleared that warrant in Port Jervis in 2019 when she paid an overdue traffic ticket.
A representative for the court system says the clerk notified Port Jervis police by mistake when state police should have been notified, resulting in the error.
The mistake was clarified before Edmond's arrest and she was released.
