Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-1st District) is one step closer in his run for governor.
Zeldin is now the presumptive GOP candidate after getting 85% of the vote in a straw poll at the state's Republican Committee meeting.
Former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino received 5%.
Andrew Giuliani, son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, did not get any votes.
If Zeldin ultimately becomes the GOP nominee, he'll face Gov. Andrew Cuomo in next year's election.
