Officials say an Ossining home was heavily damaged after a car crashed into the structure and caused fire Saturday afternoon.
Police say the unidentified driver jumped out of their vehicle and ran after crashing into the multi-family home on South Highland Avenue around 4:30 p.m.
The vehicle burst into flames, igniting the home that housed 13 people from three families.
Investigators say everyone made it out safely, although one firefighter suffered a minor injury while fighting the blaze.
"It was a working fire. We didn't go to a second alarm. It's what we call a first-alarm assignment," said Ossining Fire Department Logistics Officer J.T. Camp.
