The suspect in a string of Orange County burglaries that led to a manhunt was arraigned a second time Monday.
John Redner, 35, was arraigned in Middletown for criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest charges. His latest court appearance came after being arraigned Saturday in Wawayanda. He's expected in a Wallkill courtroom Tuesday for yet another arraignment.
Mike Chatten may be responsible for Redner's downfall. Chatten followed Redner, who previously did landscaping at his home, when he saw Redner stealing from his property as he pulled into his driveway Friday. Chatten managed to get Redner's license plate before calling cops.
Police arrested Redner hours later in Middletown after police chases in Warwick and Middletown that involved helicopters.
Angelo Vellake's deli was burglarized Friday. Police believe Redner is also behind that crime. "I think they better put him away for good this time," Vellake said. "If he's gonna keep doing this every time he gets out of jail ? it's not good for the public."
Redner, a recent parolee, has yet to post bail.
