An Orange County man whose daughter saved him from drowning last week has returned home and is recovering after undergoing surgery.
Police say Jason Hamilton, 34, lost consciousness after diving into shallow water in Greenwood Lake. His daughter, 6-year-old Lila, managed to swim to him, pull him to safety and call for help.
Erica Martin, the little girl's mother and Hamilton's fiancée, told News 12 Hudson Valley that Lila and her father would go swimming in Greenwood Lake practically every day. Martin says the whole family is still very shaken up by the accident.
