The Orange County District Attorney says all resources are being devoted to the case of a Newburgh boy who may have starved to death.
Police say 7-year-old Peter Cuacuas was taken to the hospital hours after he died inside his apartment on William Street last month.
The little boy had autism, and investigators say there were clear signs of neglect.
The case is expected to go before a grand jury. No arrests have been made, and neighbors are pressing for justice.
“They failed this little boy. They failed him when he was living, and they are still failing him now that he’s gone," says Ashley Rodriguez, of Newburgh.
