Orange County legislators have postponed the vote on potential layoffs in the county.
Fifty layoffs have been proposed by Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus to help close the county's budget gap. The cuts will mostly affect the Department of Social Services and the Valley View Nursing home.
Neuhaus hopes to close the county's $60 million budget gap. Legislator Roseanne Sullivan says Neuhaus has not listened to other suggestions that do not involve firing workers.
The vote has been postponed until next month.
