A selfless girl from Ossining is making sure other kids have a bright holiday.
Stella developed health issues with her legs when she was 4 years old. Her challenges almost led her to a life in a wheelchair.
While she was receiving treatment at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, she noticed a lot of children were missing out on the joys of being a kid during the holidays.
The determined fourth grader decided she was going to make sure every child had a gift to unwrap.
She has since recovered from her ailments but never forgot other children who are still struggling with illnesses.
For the fifth year in a row, Stella is leading the charge to bring a toy drive to life.
"Stella's Toy Drive" has collected more than $45,000 and 3,000 toys for children at the hospital.
So far, Stella has surpassed her goal of $7,500, raising $8,925.
