Within minutes of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's resignation, there was an outpouring of reaction from elected leaders and the general public all over the state.
Generally, most people agreed this was the right action for Gov. Cuomo to take. "You can't be a bully anymore, and that's what he was - he was a bully," says Chris, of New Rochelle.
There has also been a sentiment that this has been a difficult time for the state of New York and hopefully everyone can now move on.
"I think at this point it was the right thing to do, especially since a lot of women came about," says Karen Smith, of New Rochelle. "That in itself deserving of real investigation, and I'm sorry to see that the Biden administration Justice Department took a pass on that, and that's also very concerning," adds Vince Malfetano, of New Rochelle
People tell News 12 it was a relief that the governor was not going to force impeachment proceedings in order to get him out of office. "It was nice for him to step aside, and letting New York get back to what New York needs to get back to," Paul Basilicata, of New Rochelle
"At the end of the day, he knew in his heart what was right," says Tom Kirkland, of New Rochelle.
