Over 150,000 SUNY students take COVID-19 tests before leaving for Thanksgiving break

Thousands of SUNY students were tested for coronavirus before heading home for the holidays.
Officials say 152,788 tests were performed between Nov. 9 and Nov. 23. Of those tests, the positivity rate remained well below 1% at .63%.
As News 12 has reported, the SUNY school system required every student to test negative in order to go home for Thanksgiving.
After the break, SUNY will shift to remote learning for the rest of the fall semester. In-person classes are scheduled to resume Feb. 1 - with no spring break.
