A lockout at all Peekskill schools has been lifted following police activity in the area earlier Thursday.
District officials said students remained safe and that instruction continued inside the buildings during the lockout.
The campuses were temporarily closed, with no one allowed to enter or exit.
The district thanked families for their patience and said updates would continue as needed.
