Manishkumar Patel of Pelham Manor has been arrested for allegedly selling fraudulent prescriptions worth at least $10 million in a health care fraud and kickback scheme.
Patel and a co-conspirator are accused of obtaining prescription information from call centers, arranging telemedicine appointments with Medicare patients, and having a doctor sign off on fake prescriptions without seeing a patient.
The drugs were then allegedly sold to Medicare providers.
Patel faces charges including health care fraud, wire fraud, and violation of the anti-kickback statute.
