New City will soon be home to a major indoor pickleball facility as the sport's popularity continues to soar.
The New York Pickleball Club is expected to open in March next to the Stop & Shop, offering nine cushioned courts inside a 28,000-square-foot space. The venue will also include a private event room and other amenities.
Owners Laura and Dave Rose say they are handling demolition themselves ahead of the next phase of construction. "We are really excited to bring this to the community, and I think people are chomping at the bit to get this going," said Laura Rose.
The Sports & Fitness Industry Association reports pickleball has been the fastest-growing sport in America for the past four years.
