Piermont police said Thursday that a car that plunged into the freezing waters off the Piermont Pier was located, but the driver who left the scene is still missing.
Police Chief James Hurley said that it appears that no one and nothing was inside the vehicle.
As News 12 reported Wednesday, Piermont police came to the pier at around 2 p.m. because the dock was damaged. They came across tire marks that led to the water and car parts. They then found video of a car driving into the dock area, the driver getting out and the car continuing into the Hudson River.
Police are asking anyone with any information about the whereabouts of the drive to contact them.
Hurley said the car will be retrieved another day because of the weather and the tide.
