Reports are flying that Westchester District Attorney Jeanine Pirro?s husband is behind the call for her to drop out of the U.S. Senate race.
The New York Post reported Monday that Al Pirro coaxed Republican State Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno to publicly urge Pirro to abandon her bid for U.S. Senate and instead run for state attorney general. Pirro family friend and GOP political analyst Mike Edelman, says while the Post may have some of the story right Al Pirro would never undermine his wife. Pirro said in a statement Monday that her husband has her best interest at heart and any other suggestion is ridiculous.
Next Monday, the state GOP will meet with county party leaders and that may be where Pirro gets drafted to run for state attorney general instead.
