A state Supreme Court judge has granted a temporary restraining order sought by the Town of Mount Pleasant, putting plans to open a shelter for unattended migrant children on hold.
The judge ordered association attorneys to appear in court this Friday.
The proposed shelter, located on the Jewish Child Care Association campus in Pleasantville, was intended for children who crossed the U.S. border.
In seeking the order, the Mount Pleasant town supervisor stated that the association's efforts were in clear violation of the town's zoning laws.
A spokeswoman for the association stated that they had no comment at this time.
