A plastic surgeon accused of having a massive illegal weapons cache in Westchester could avoid more jail time if he pleads guilty.
Dr. Matthew Bonanno would plead guilty to one felony weapons charge in exchange for the three months he already served behind bars.
Bonanno was arrested in August 2019 after Tuckahoe police responded to a report that he threatened to shoot his ex-wife and their daughter.
Police say they found a gun in the glove compartment of his friend's car outside of a bar in the village where the pair were hanging out.
Additional searches revealed dozens of other guns, ammunition, knives and armor in his car parked outside his ex-wife's home, his parent's Mount Pleasant home and his Nassau County apartment.
The plea deal includes the charges he faces in Nassau County.
Bonanno has until Monday to either accept the offer or go forward with a pre-trial hearing focusing on whether the Tuckahoe police violated his civil rights by searching his car illegally and getting incriminating statements without reading him his rights.
