Pleasantville Firefighter Parade brings hundreds together to honor area volunteers

The Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department’s annual firefighter parade pushed forward in good spirits Friday, despite some rain.
Heavy showers moved through the area during the popular event, but attendees didn’t let that get to them. Hundreds came out to support local volunteer fire departments along the parade route.
Departments from across Westchester and Rockland counties were part of the event that local residents say it extra special because these are their neighbors who donate their time to keep their communities safe.
Judges walked along the route to pick the best in many different categories include best color guard and more — it’s something that firehouses took very seriously.
