The first shooting took place at about midnight where shots rang out at a gathering on Horton Avenue and Brook Street, where five men were shot. A 29-year-old man, believed to be a Brooklyn resident, was shot in the neck and did not survive his injuries.
Another man who was shot in his back was rushed to a nearby hospital for surgery. His condition was not immediately released. According to hospital personnel, the other three victims were not seriously injured.
