A 12-year-old girl was killed and a 9-year-old boy was injured in a shooting in Kingston Thursday night.

A 12-year-old girl was killed and her 9-year-old brother was injured in a shooting in Kingston Thursday night.
Kingston police say it happened around 8 p.m. at an apartment on Van Buren Street.
They say the boy was shot in the arm. He is in stable condition and expected to recover.
There is no word on any arrests, and no motive has been released.
Kingston Mayor Steve Noble commented on the tragedy on Facebook.
"There are no words that can take away the pain and grief so many are feeling right now," he said. "What happened last night was every parent's worst nightmare. Our hearts are with the family who suffered this unimaginable loss."
