Two people from the Town of Poughkeepsie were arrested for shooting a fellow resident in the head this weekend, according to authorities.
Police say they responded to a shooting incident at Cherry Hill Condominiums on Saturday night, where a person had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
Initial reports suggested an unknown male had entered the apartment and shot the victim before fleeing.
However, further investigation revealed all parties involved were acquaintances staying at the residence.
A K-9 unit located an unlicensed handgun during a sweep of the area.
Angelica and Allen Wood have both been arrested and now face multiple charges, including assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Both were arraigned Sunday, with Allen Wood remanded to Dutchess County Jail without bail, and Angelica Wood with bail set at $5,000 cash, $10,000 bail bond, or $25,000 partially secured bail bond.
The victim was transported to a trauma center and was listed in serious condition.
