Bullets flew on a busy block in Mott Haven Wednesday afternoon, and the shooter is still at large, according to police.
Surveillance video shows the suspected shooter in all black, leaving GT Deli right before 1 p.m. Two other men are seen approaching him, before the suspect pulled out a gun and started firing shots.
The shooter chased one victim down the block, dropping his food twice while opening fire, and paused both times to pick it back up.
Police arrived on Alexander Avenue to find the 21-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals - Lincoln in stable condition.
Longtime residents of the neighborhood say there are a lot of new faces lately, and some make them uneasy.
"They turn up right on our block - Bruckner Boulevard and Alexander Avenue in the Bronx - and they don't leave," said Abby Valdez, who's lived in Mott Haven for 15 years. "We've been investigating them with surveillance because police have not responded to us. The police will not respond until someone is bleeding in the corner."
NYPD detectives and officers were on the scene through Wednesday evening as they continue their search for the shooter.
