Police are close to making an arrest of a hit-and-run driver who struck a 3-year-old boy in Newburgh. Witnesses say the little boy broke free from his mother?s grip and ran into a busy intersection Monday. Police say the boy was struck by a car on South and Chamber streets, but the driver kept going.
The child sustained a head injury and was rushed to Saint Luke's Hospital for treatment. He is expected to be alright.
Meanwhile, police say they know the car they are looking for and it is just a matter of tracking down the driver and making an arrest.
