A Danbury woman was hit and killed Monday in White Plains, police say.
It happened just after 1 p.m. at the intersection of North Broadway and Cemetery Road.
Police say their initial investigation found that Stacie Baumgartner was walking south on North Broadway on the west side of the street when she was hit by a vehicle that was traveling south on Broadway, making a right turn on Cemetery Road.
Officials say the intersection is a multilane with crosswalks, traffic lights and pavement markings. Police say North Broadway is a two-way road and that Cemetery Road is a one-way street westbound.
Baumgartner sustained serious injuries and was taken to Westchester Medical Center, where she died.
The 29-year-old driver of the truck remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police say. His identity has not been released.
