Police investigated an apparent suicide attempt inside a Sparkill home Tuesday.
According to Lt. Donald Butterworth, of the Orangetown Police Department, a woman called at around 12:50 p.m. to report hearing a shot from inside 1 Blanche St., where she herself was staying.
The woman eventually left the residence unharmed.
Neighbors were told by police to remain inside their homes as police, a bomb squad and a SWAT team rushed to the scene.
School buses in Sparkill were temporarily redirected and returned to school due to police activity on Blanche Street.
