Police investigate $100K diamond theft in Armonk

North Castle police are on the trail of two armed robbers who stole $100,000 in diamonds from an Armonk man Friday night.
According to police, the victim, who is a diamond merchant, was coming home to his house on the corner of Arrowhead Lane. As he stepped out of his car, two men came up from behind him, pulled out a gun and took a bag containing diamonds. The man was not injured.
Just last month, a Harrison woman was robbed of her diamond earrings. Police say the two suspects were hoping for a cache of diamonds, but settled on the earrings. Investigators do not know if the two robberies are related. Anyone with information on the Armonk robbery is asked to call North Castle detectives at 914-273-9500.
