Police made an arrest earlier this month in a smash-and-grab Connecticut robbery that bears similarities to the one that happens this week at The Westchester mall.
Police say three men entered the Tourneau store shortly after the mall opened last Sunday. Security video caught them smashing display cases open with hammers and running off with more than $300,000 worth of designer watches.
A similar robbery happened at David Harvey Jewelers in Darien, Connecticut back in 2011. In that robbery, three men smashed through display cases with hammers and took off with more than $400,000 in jewelry. One of the suspects, Bronx man Richard Garrison, was arrested Aug. 8.
Police have not established a connection, but are looking into a possible link, along with several other similar robberies.
