A 59-year-old man has been charged in connection to a burglary at a Newburgh restaurant on Wednesday.
Police say Duane Williams smashed the front door glass of Itzmi Restaurant and then entered and stole property.
They say when officers arrived, they saw a man exiting through the smashed door. Officers ordered the suspect to stop but he ran back into the restaurant. They say he then tried to escape through a back door.
A foot pursuit ensued, and officers were able to arrest Williams.
Williams is charged with burglary, criminal mischief, petit larceny and resisting arrest.
