A Middletown wife is mourning the loss of her husband, who police say was killed Sunday by his sister's ex-boyfriend in a murder-suicide.
Police say Federico Ochoa, 29, shot Moises Molina, 36, as he sat in his car with his family. A witness saw Monlina slumped over in the vehicle, which crashed. According to police, Ochoa then ran to a nearby house and shot himself.
Police say Ochoa had recently broken up with Molina's sister, Liliana Torijano, who's the mother of Ochoa's 1-year-old son. Ochoa had allegedly told Torijano that he would kill himself if they didn't get back together.
Molina had agreed to bring his sister and her son to see Ochoa before the mother and baby took a trip to Long Island with Molina's family, relatives say.
Carolina Escamilla, Molina's wife, is in a state of shock over her husband's death. "He means everything to me," she says. "This guy is crazy because my husband didn't say nothing ? in front of my kids. My kids said, ?My father. I don?t want him to die.?"
Molina leaves behind four children.
Police are still investigating what led up to the tragic incident, but relatives believe Ochoa was jealous of the close relationship the brother and sister had.
Middletown police believe Ochoa had actually been deported from the United States before and that he may have been here illegally.
