Police arrested three Newburgh teenagers and charged them with assault early Saturday after they allegedly stabbed a 38-year-old victim in the stomach during a brawl.
Authorities say the fight, which involved baseball bats and other weapons, broke out near Mill and West Parmenter streets between the victim, Ramiro Gutierrez, of Newburgh, and three teens. The teens are Alberto Silva Jr., 19, Kevin Eduardo Maquilion, 18, and Roland Anquiano, 18.
A neighbor who declined to give her name described the scene. She says there were large blood stains along the front of a Mill Street home. The victim stumbled into a nearby residence and was found lying in a pool of blood, witnesses say.
When police arrived they broke up the fight, and had to chase down the three teens, who had fled.
Gutierrez, who has a young daughter, is being treated at Westchester Medical Center. His condition is unknown.
