Police: Middletown man charged with murder in New York City

Police say 63-year-old Charles Cunningham was found unconscious on the ground at East 105th Street and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. He was pronounced dead the following day.

A Middletown man has been charged with a murder that took place in New York City last April.

Police say 63-year-old Charles Cunningham was found unconscious on the ground at East 105th Street and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. He was pronounced dead the following day.

An investigation into the incident revealed that he had been assaulted, according to authorities.

On Wednesday, police say 40-year-old Middletown resident Ariel Nunez was charged with murder, reckless endangerment and assault.

The motive for the homicide has yet to be released by authorities.
