Police: Middletown man with more than 47 arrests stabbed man during dispute

Officers responded and found the 31-year-old victim, who had been slashed in the chest, back and arm.

A Middletown man is accused of stabbing another man and leaving him to bleed out on a sidewalk.
It happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Police say they got a call that a man had been stabbed near 6 Courtland St. 
Officers responded and found the 31-year-old victim, who had been slashed in the chest, back and arm.  
Investigators say he was fighting with another man known to police as "Amaya."
The dispute turned violent when the suspect slashed the victim.
Richard "Amaya" Fajardo was placed under arrest without incident.  
Police say he has an extensive history with the department, with over 47 arrests.
The victim underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
