Police: Taxi driver killed in Newburgh shooting

A taxi driver was killed in a shooting in Newburgh Thursday, police say.
The incident happened on North Miller Street between Farrington and South streets at around 9 p.m.
Jorge Arbayza, who came to the United States 10 years ago from Peru to escape the violence there, was killed in the shooting in what police say was a robbery gone wrong.
Arbayza worked for Express USA Taxi. An employee there told News 12 that driver's have encountered four robberies this year. They alsao say the violence in Newburgh is so bad that their drivers are essentially risking their lives when they come to work.
The 51-year-old's family is now offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to his killer.
The windows of a taxi were seen with bullet holes and shattered to pieces.
Police have not released any information on any possible suspects.
