A South Hempstead man accused of intentionally hitting a woman with his car Saturday is facing multiple charges, according to police.
Detectives say the 28-year-old victim was trying to back out of a parking space in Oceanside when a car stopped behind and blocked her path.
John Ardolino, 41, allegedly exited the vehicle and began banging on her window while yelling.
He then opened the door, grabbed her arm and attempted to punch her before returning to his vehicle.
As the woman left her car to take a photo of his license plate, police say Ardolino drove forward and struck her.
She was thrown from the hood of the car and later hospitalized for neck and back pain, according to authorities.
Detectives say the charges against Ardolino include assault, reckless endangerment, menacing and leaving the scene of an incident.
He was arraigned Sunday. Police also confirmed Monday morning that there is no known relationship between Ardolino and the victim.
