Police: Tractor-trailer driver killed in crash near the Mario Cuomo Bridge in Tarrytown
State police say 53-year-old Richard A. Simmons, of Clifton Park, died at the scene.

State police say a tractor-trailer crashed and caught fire Friday on the New York State Thruway at the entrance to the Mario Cuomo Bridge.
Police say the truck was engulfed in flames when they arrived on the scene.
Fire crews from both Tarrytown and Nyack helped put out the fire.
State police say 53-year-old Richard A. Simmons, of Clifton Park, died at the scene. They say Simmons was driving the truck when it left the roadway, hit a guardrail and then a storage building.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
