News 12 has learned more than two dozen children have been struck by vehicles in Ramapo this year.
A total of 25 kids under 12 years old have been hit, according to Ramapo police.
They provided that number as News 12 was investigating the 2-year-old girl who was killed by a van Monday afternoon on Calvert Drive in Kaser.
The 21-year-old driver from Monsey stayed at the scene and is not currently facing charges.
That occurrence is the fifth time News 12 has reported a child has died as a result of being hit by a vehicle this year.
News 12 is working to find out what the toddler was doing and who was watching her, but police were not able to comment because it's still an active investigation.
Rockland County's Department of Social Services also had no comment on specifics.
Ramapo police say they have several programs that address pedestrian and driver safety.
