The Yonkers police detective who died suddenly over the
weekend has been identified as Del Caraballo.
Police say the 16-year veteran died Sunday after he
experienced a fatal medical event while operating a motor vehicle in New York
City.
He was 48 years old.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
In a statement, Mayor Mike Spano said Caraballo was known
and loved by many in the law enforcement community.
